Q. May I get a copy of my exam?
  A.  Reports at Desoto Imaging Specialists are automatically faxed to the referring physician the day of the study.  Patients' exams are available on CD and films and may be delivered to the doctors' offices on request.

Q. How long does DIS keep my exam/report on file?
  A. We maintain the films and reports from your exam(s) in accordance with state laws (in most cases, for a minimum of five years).

Q. What do I need to bring with me to ease the payment process?
  A.  Bring your drivers license or other government issue photo id, complete insurance information, including your insurance card, ID number, and group number. In addition, for workers’ compensations claims and automobile injuries, bring your claim number, the date of injury and the name and address of your attorney.

Q. Do I need to have my exam preauthorized by my health plan?
  A.  Some health plans do require preauthorization. DIS will check with yours to see if this is necessary. Your insurance company can also answer any questions you may have about what is covered and what is not.

Q. If I do not have insurance what will it cost me to have an exam?
  A.  If you do not have medical insurance and/or you are concerned about paying for your procedure, call our business office at 662-349-4321. We’ll give you an estimate and work with you in setting up a payment plan, if necessary.

Q. Do you file secondary insurance claims?
  A.  Yes, we do.

Q. Will I need someone to drive me home?
  A.  Some procedures do require a driver for your safety (i.e., if sedation or anesthetic are administered). When you make your appointment, you will be told if a driver is needed so that you can make the necessary arrangements.

Q. Can I fit my appointment into my work schedule?
  A.   In most cases, we can schedule you for the same day you call for an appointment. Our goal is to schedule your appointment for a time that is convenient for you.

Q. Why do I need to arrive at DIS before my appointment time?
  A.  It’s necessary for you to arrive early in order to complete your paperwork and prepare for your exam.

Q. What should I wear for my exam?
  A.  Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing (i.e., sweat pants, T-shirt, shorts, metal-free bra, etc.). It may be necessary to have you change into a patient gown depending on your exam. Secure lockers will be provided for your clothing and valuables.
